SECPA Limited
Due to the limitation of LPC’s to hold contracts, many often facilitate the creation of Pharmacy Provider Companies (PPCs) to allow pharmacies to bid for and deliver local services collectively. To support this, on the 13th October 2025, SECPA Limited was formed.
SECPA has been established for the benefit of contractors across the South East by the following four Local Pharmaceutical Committees (LPCs) within the region: Sussex LPC, Surrey LPC, Hampshire and Isle of Wight LPC, and Thames Valley LPC. These organisations have come together to create a collaborative body that supports community pharmacy contractors, helping to strengthen the role of pharmacy services across the South East where a single contract-holding organisation is required.
Operating on a not-for-profit basis, SECPA has been formed with the aim of supporting the development, delivery, and expansion of high-quality community pharmacy services throughout the region. By working collectively, the organisation seeks to ensure that contractors are well supported and able to respond effectively to the evolving needs of patients, the NHS, and local healthcare systems.
A key objective of SECPA is to facilitate the creation of innovative pharmacy services and to increase the uptake and accessibility of pharmaceutical care delivered through community pharmacies. This is achieved by promoting the value of highly trained and skilled pharmacy teams, supporting workforce development, and enabling pharmacies to play a greater role in providing clinical services within their local communities.
By acting as a regional collaborative body, SECPA helps coordinate opportunities for service development, encourages consistency across areas, and supports the effective implementation of new initiatives that benefit both patients and the wider healthcare system.
