Seasonal Vaccination Services – COVID-19 and Adult Flu

A new Advanced service offers both COVID-19 and adult flu vaccinations, or just adult flu. This new service replaces the previously commissioned COVID-19 vaccination Enhanced and Adult Flu vaccination Advanced services. From 1st April 2026, the service will initially support the administration of COVID-19 vaccinations to eligible cohorts as part of the Spring 2026 COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

Each year from September through to March the NHS runs a seasonal flu vaccination campaign aiming to vaccinate all patients who are at risk of developing more serious complications from the virus. This new service enables community pharmacies to provide COVID-19 and adult flu vaccinations or solely adult flu vaccinations during the autumn/winter vaccination season.

Community pharmacists can vaccinate all eligible patients outlined the service specification.
